Works commenced on site the 16th May 2022 and were completed over a 26th week programme of works and completed mid-November.
The existing building was a property originally built by a local renowned architect John Dobson and is a Grade 2 listed property. All works to the property had to be agreed in great detail with the consultation officer prior to implementation.
A firm of local architects (GT3 Architects) purchased the existing property which was empty at the time and had recently been used to provide facilities for a local night club and needed some tender loving care to bring the property back into use.
The first and second floor had to be lifted to install new services and provide/install fire protection within the floor voids prior to the levelling up and reinstalling the existing floors to create passive fire separation on both levels suitable for all its new usage. The services had to be installed from above the floors as no works were allowed to be carried out on the existing celling finishes due to the listed nature of existing ceilings. The ground floor services were installed from bellow the floor as safe access was available from within the basement.
The ground, first and second floors were refurbished to make new offices for the architectural practice and the basement was refitted to provide toilets, showers and other back to use facilities such as data, boiler and plant room to support all the new facilities.
